Kansas City Japan Festival

Mission: The Mission of the Greater Kansas City Japan Festival Committee is to promote and produce an annual Japan Festival for the people of the Greater Kansas City area that celebrates the beauty of the Japanese culture.

The Greater Kansas City Japan Festival Committee is a Sub-Committee of the Heart of America Japan-America Society, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, whose mission is to promote the exchange and understanding of social, cultural and educational activities between the people of Japan and the United States.

Year Established: 1997

Meetings: Committee meetings are held monthly from February through November to prepare for the festival and review it afterward.

Main Activities: The annual Greater Kansas City Japan Festival is held on a Saturday in late September or early October each year at the Johnson County Community College. Check the GKC Japan Festival web site for details on activities and events.
