Nijikaiwa - Japanese Conversation Practice

Purpose / Mission: To facilitate the improvement of Japanese language skills.

Year Established: 1993

Meetings: Held at Starbucks on the Plaza (302 Nichols Road, Kansas City, Missouri), Thursdays 7:30 to 9:00 PM.

Main Activities: The weekly gatherings are informal to allow individuals to get together to use their Japanese language conversation skills. The meetings are not a class, there are no lessons, but just a place to use what an individual has learned. People of all ages and Japanese language ability levels are welcome, including Japanese individuals wishing to practice their English. There is no cost to join or attend the weekly meetings.

This week's interesting word was critical mass (rinkai shitsuryou). It came up when talking about how when certain people gather together without fail certain topics are discussed.
